Speed Dating Sure to Create Some Romance
Out of 26 hopeful speed daters, the most popular girl had 14 yes votes and the top bloke had 13.
The Cocktail Creation event, which cost $89 a head, let to about 26 possible follow-up dates. Not bad odds for a night on the town!
Both first-timers and regulars enjoyed the party. Linda, 22, said she loved the night and would definitely try it again.
"It gave me more confidence approaching people. Breaking the ice is my first problem and it really helped me."
Helen, 26, came because she said it was tough to meet new people in the corporate world.
"I had a really good time – it was a bit of a laugh, I’m fairly confident I didn’t meet the man of my dreams but I would come back."
Mark, 31, had done speed dating twice in the past and even had a six-month relationship with a girl he met in a session. He said he limited his picks tonjust two women because it led to better follow-up dates.
Jodie, 22, who chose seven men, said she wanted matches.
“Who wouldn’t be hopeful? You would feel like a bit of a loser if you didn’t get a match.”
Kylie, 27, was impressed most of the men stepped out of their comfort zones.
“I would definitely consider doing it again. It beats sitting at home waiting for Mr Right to knock on the front doow.”
Daniel, 33, said he would come back for more and Jeff, 27, hoped to at least build his social circle.
Host Nicolas Hauf said this bunch was energetic and chatty.
