FastLife launches in China!
China: 2008 is “Year of the Date”.
The largest gender imbalance in the world finds a solution in speed dating.
In a bid to alleviate China’s extreme demographic imbalance FastLife Speed Dating, the world’s largest international singles events service, is set to launch in China on 31st May 2008. Trailblazers in the speed dating world, FastLife once again sets precedent as the first and only international speed dating service to operate in China. Uniting FastLife’s philosophy with China’s dynamic culture, the result is Chinese language website KuaiQing.com which, loosely translated, means ‘Fast Love.’
Reflecting the growing problems associated with China’s severe gender imbalance, interest in FastLife’s one-of-a-kind, invitation-based speed dating format is already strong. Despite the current 2 to 1 ratio between the sexes in the cities, and the tens of thousands of lone Asian men, FastLife’s launch and accompanying event opener, which will witness 200 singles dating simultaneously, is expected to improve the odds for millions of singles in China.
According to Gu Baochang, one of China’s leading family planning experts, the concentrated gender imbalance is due to a disturbing cultural preference for male children and the one-child policy. With this growing trend, China will soon have a massive surplus of males, and more bachelors than the entire female population of Taiwan within the next few years.
Joining forces with Zhenai.com (China’s leading online dating website, formerly known as 96333.com), and Xinmin Weekly (part of the Xinmin Media Group, one of China’s largest media conglomerates) FastLife will move into China on May 31st, inviting Zhenai.com’s eight million registered members to participate in stylish speed dating events in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
The launch event, in association with Zhenai.com and Xinmin Weekly, has been designed to focus on the plight of those colloquially known as ‘Zhangjiang Men.’ These intellectually renowned males work for the technology firms located at Zhangjiang High-tech Park in Shanghai, China’s Silicon Valley. The ‘bride drought’ has dealt a double whammy to these men – in addition to the demographic forces at play they work in an area almost devoid of women.
Boldly going where no speed dating company – and not many women – have gone before, the FastLife launch is set to make the Chinese dating game more efficient, and a lot more fun! 100 single women will be invited to China’s Silicon Valley where they will meet 100 single ‘Zhangjiang Men’ at a gala speed-dating event. The event, which will include interactive ice-breaking dating games reflecting the men’s high IQs and demanding careers, will give single Chinese women the opportunity to date this highly recognized and respected group of men. Each guest will experience a series of 20 three-minute speed dates, with the anticipation of bringing the ‘bride drought’ to an end.
